Well today Google announced that they will be upping the limit of app sizes from 50Mb to 4Gb. From a developers point of view, this is a good move as some apps have been developed and not published on the Android Market but published on the devs websites because of the size of the app. We have some apps that we have not released because the size is way too big for the marketplace. Our latest game is way to big at 798mb which we were thinking of privately publishing but we are working really hard to bring down the size of the app. The main problem is that the APKs (the app file format for Android) will still be limited but developers will have to allow users to download expansion kits. We will be doing this so users can download more level packs. We will not charge for this but we think that alot of big paid for apps will charge you for the expansion. What do you think of this new update? Would you download a 4GB app? Tell us via Twitter @Gromfrog or leave a comment below.
